Catherine Chalier

Catherine Chalier is professor emerita of philosophy (Paris Ouest Nanterre University). She is the author of more than 25 books on Judaism and philosophy, and she is especially interested in how Judaism, as foundational to Western culture, sheds light on philosophical questions. Her recent book, Reading the Torah: Beyond the Fundamentalist and Scientific Approaches, was the recipient of the 2016 French Voices award and is her second book to be translated into English.

Prof. Chalier delivered a lecture for the Greenberg Center on November 14. A recording of her lecture can be accessed here.
