2016 Undergraduate Essay Winners

Congratulations to the co-winners of the 2016 Undergraduate Course Essay Competition

Eliora Katz, a philosophy major, wrote the paper  "A Tale of Two Maimonides: Maimonides in the Thought of Joseph Solveitchik and Yeshayahu Leibowitz" for the seminar Topics in Philosophy of Judaism: Ethics and Halakah taught by Prof. Arnold Davidson in Autumn Quarter 2015.

Rivka Baker Keusch, majoring in Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations, wrote the paper "How Hopeful is Hatikvah: The Extent to Which a National Anthem Can Unify" for the Music seminar on Israel/Palestine taught by Prof. Philip Bohlman in Spring Quarter 2015.

Both winners will receive a cash prize of $500, funded by a generous grant from the Gemunder Family.
